1996: Creation of Certech at the initiative of the Catholic University of Louvain (UCLouvain), with the support of the Walloon Region and the European Union. UCLouvain transferred to its Seneffe site the know-how of three laboratories which had a long tradition of innovation and industrial collaborations in the field of chemistry. These laboratories were the chemistry and physics of high polymers unit, the process engineering unit and the catalysis and chemistry of divided materials unit.
1999: Certech becomes an independent legal entity with about twenty employees.
2012: establishment of a joint research unit between Certech and UCLouvain (via its research institutes) to strengthen their collaboration, formalize their research & development and technology transfer activities for the benefit of companies and in particular SME.
Today, Certech employs around forty high-level scientists and combines a sharp instrumental expertise with a deep understanding of the fields of activity of its industrial customers.
