Certech has designed a pilot reactor based on data obtained in laboratory scale fixed-bed microreactors. These developments were carried out on a model reaction of dehydration of glycerol – biobased molecule – in acrolein using heterogeneous catalysts.
Continuous Flow Chemistry Pilot Reactor
This pilot reactor developed in the framework of Flow4reactors project allows simultaneous introduction of liquid and gas on the reactor head with on-line monitoring of the gas phase by micro-GC.
The technical characteristics are as follows:
– Reactor internal diameter : 1,5 inches
– T°C : from room temperature to 800 °C
– P : from atmospheric pressure to 200 bars
– Gas flow : few ml to 2L/min
– Liquid flow : 0.0001 to 190 ml/min
This pilot is equipped with a control and data acquisition module: temperature, pressure, flow, analytical balance, speed of peristaltic pumps, which allows access to digital technologies for future continuous chemistry R&D&I studies and which is particularly useful in applied catalysis.
